Yoga: 1st and 5th (during school)

March 11 @ 10:00 am - 11:45 am

Led by Jen Brinsky …

Purpose: To actively introduce students to the concept and practice of yoga as a way to strengthen and care for our bodies and minds and to encourage students to move their bodies joyfully, safely, and creatively.

Message: Yoga is for everyone! Through the practice of tuning in to our bodies and emotions, we can foster a growth mindset within ourselves and do a better job of caring for ourselves, others, and the world around us.

Methods: Students will be guided to practice mindful listening, movement, and breathing using the modalities below.

  • Music + rhythm
  • Imaginative storytelling
  • Picture books
  • Call + response
  • Learning/practicing poses and breathing exercises (usually theme-based)
  • Relaxation + guided meditation


10:00-10:45: 5th grade

11:00-11:45: 1st grade
