DESCRIPTION:Led by Jen Brinsky … \nPurpose: To actively introduce students to the concept and practice of yoga as a way to strengthen and care for our bodies and minds and to encourage students to move their bodies joyfully\, safely\, and creatively. \nMessage: Yoga is for everyone! Through the practice of tuning in to our bodies and emotions\, we can foster a growth mindset within ourselves and do a better job of caring for ourselves\, others\, and the world around us. \nMethods: Students will be guided to practice mindful listening\, movement\, and breathing using the modalities below. \n\nMusic + rhythm\nImaginative storytelling\nPicture books\nCall + response\nLearning/practicing poses and breathing exercises (usually theme-based)\nRelaxation + guided meditation\n\n—— \n10:00-10:45: 5th grade \n11:00-11:45: 1st grade
