That’s right! Thanks to the outstanding efforts of our amazing children at Mariemont Elementary School, we raised $14,550 for the American Heart Association’s 2018 Kids Heart Challenge! What a great accomplishment! A huge congratulations are in order for our top fundraiser, Bailey Bartlett, who brought in an incredible $660. Nice work, Bailey! Ms. Steiger’s 4th-grade class! Huge congrats to Ms. Steiger’s students who submitted over 300 box tops!! Wow. Wow. Wow. Thank you to everyone who collected and sent in their box tops. Our collection progress can be tracked here (enter “Mariemont” in the search box, then select our school — not the school in Ohio. Ha!). Keep up those collection efforts. The Book Fair has been a tradition at Mariemont for over a decade. With that in mind, this year’s event was one of the most successful Book Fair in the history of Mariemont Book Fairs! The $20,200 in merchandise sales generated were ~$1,200 more than last year. Of this total, Mariemont gets 25%, or $5,050. Not bad for a week’s worth of work*. *Actually, there was more than just the week of the Book Fair. $2,100 raised. By 5th graders. At Mariemont. Not too shabby, huh? The”Kids Helping Kids Dinner” has been a Mariemont tradition for the past five years. 5th graders host a potluck dinner and collect donations to support the greater Mariemont community and other outside organizations. This year, the 5th graders collected donations totaling $2100 — money used for the Ralph Richardson Center (RRC) to purchase equipment for their adaptive PE program. Check out the new Shade Structure and Snack Area in the back playground! The heavy-duty benches and all the materials were paid for by the PTA with generous donations from the 2017 Auction. The installation, concrete, and labor were very generously donated by Teichert, Construction Company. Mariemont Dad’s Dan Gibbs and Nicholas Richards are the ones to THANK! They were instrumental in getting this tremendous project done.
